Signing up for the Masterlist does not automatically add you to the tours but expresses your interest in receiving emailed opportunities. Once you spot an opportunity you’re interested, follow the instructions in that email – you only have to take part in the events you’re interested in!
What is a Virtual Book Tour?
A virtual book tour is an online event that usually lasts one to two weeks during which an author promotes their book across blogs, websites, and social media platforms.
As a tour host, you’ll be assigned a specific day where you might feature a review, interview, guest post, giveaway, or spotlight. Everything you need—graphics, author bios, book blurbs, links—is provided in advance (unless you’re doing a book review – you’ll be writing that part!), making it easy to participate. It’s a great way to support authors, discover new books, and share bookish content with your audience.
Tour Host obligations
- You must post on the date agreed
- Tag the author and @pastecreative on Instagram (if applicable) and use #pastecreativetours on all social media so we can easily spot your post
- Please do not use AI on any tour-related posts, reviews or graphics
- Reviews should be spoiler free!
- Book Tours are marketing and promotional events. Obviously, we would prefer reviews be positive, but we also understand that not every book will be everyone’s cup of tea. If you’re not enjoying a book that you had agreed to review, please contact me and we can discuss alternate options
What kind of virtual events can you expect to be invited to?
- Cover Reveals: A one-day event to reveal a book’s new cover
- Book Tours: a one- to two-week event for new or already-published books that can include a variety of posts, including reviews, features, author Q&As, guests posts, and spotlights.
- ARC Reviews: a review-only event with Advanced Reader Copies but with less formal deadlines
- Street Team invitations: authors sometimes look for Street Team members, a group of people focused on specifically promoting that author and their books
